A NOTE ABOUT YOUR CHILD’S TEACHER Hello, everyone!Welcome to this school year at Duncan Creek Elementary!I’m so glad that you and your child are here!JJust in case you’re curious about the person with whom your child spends his/her days, here is some information about me:
I grew up in Peoria, Illinois. This is my 21st year in Education. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Illinois College in 1994. I received my Master's Degree from Western Illinois University in 2001. I taught Pre-K one year, Title I Resource one year, first grade two years and second grade three years in Illinois. I moved to Georgia with my husband, (a 4th grade teacher at Dacula Elementary School), and started working in Gwinnett County in July of 2001. I taught 2nd grade in Gwinnett County from 2001-2011. I started teaching 3rd grade in 2011. I received my Specialist's Degree from Piedmont College in 2009. During the 2011-2012 school year I worked to get my Gifted Endorsement through Gwinnett County. I work extremely hard at what I do and always try my best. Because I do this, I also ask the same of my students. Of course, I never expect them to be perfect, (since I'm so far from perfect myself), only to hard work and have a good work ethic. This is because I care about all of my students and always want the best for them. When I am not at work I like to travel, spend time with my husband, (he's a 4th grade teacher at Dacula Elementary School), hang out with my dogs - 3 Papillons, teach or attend fitness classes or just RELAX!
I want our school year together to be a positive, successful, productive and collaborative one. Please let me know if you ever have any questions or concerns.I will do everything I can to help. We’re in this together, and I know we want the same thing - the very best for your child this year.JEmail is the best way to reach me.Email any time and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
